About

Savior Sound is a Christian recording studio established, at its current location, in 2000 but owner/ operator/ engineer, Steven Gauthier, has enjoyed studio ownership for more than 25 years. The first was an analog facility located in Dallas, the second was a 16 track hybrid analog/ digital setup in Arlington which evolved into the current setup and location. The studio is now located in the basement of his home and includes a control room, tracking room and an isolation/ vocal booth. Using a DAW consisting of a 2.8 GHz Mac Pro tower with 32 GB of RAM and PreSonus Studio One Professional version 5.5, unlimited track, high resolution recordings are now possible.

Steven began his musical career in 1983 playing bass guitar with local metal bands in South Louisiana. He later started a sound & lighting company where he was able to furnish large sound systems and run live sound for bands of all genres at various venues in the area.

It didn't take long before his mixing skills began to receive national attention and in 1989 he became touring audio engineer for national acts/recording artists Chastain, David T. Chastain and Leather. Touring with them for the following album tours - Chastain - "For Those Who Dare", David T. Chastain - "Within The Heat" & Leather - "Shock Waves", he mixed live sound in a variety of large clubs and arenas across the entire country.

By 1993 Steven settled down, moved to Arlington, Texas and married the love of his life, Vivian. Their first child, a son, soon followed. Still wanting to use his audio engineering talents, Steven began to shift his focus from live sound to studio recording. Driven by the desire to raise their son correctly, both Steven and Vivian surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ in 1997. Thanks to the Christ-centered discipleship of Calvary Chapel of Arlington, they have been faithfully serving the LORD ever since. The family has grown to four sons and one daughter. The oldest son is a drummer and has been playing since the age of 7. He began playing with the Sunday Morning Worship Band when he was just 11 years old. And, of course, he is also available to lay down drum tracks in Dad’s studio when necessary. The other children are all ministry-minded as well - the youngest plays guitar and piano lessons for the rest are forthcoming. Glory to God! In 2000 the LORD led them to their current location which, with it's finished out basement, allowed the facilitation of Savior Sound Recording Studio.

By the end of 2011, the decision was made to switch to Studio One DAW software by PreSonus and in January of 2012 the implementation of the PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2/Studio One Professional hardware/software combo was complete and is still currently in use today.

Steven has a God-given passion for music. His desire is for the Holy Spirit to show up and bring His inspiration and anointing to every aspect of your project. Savior Sound would like to provide an atmosphere that allows freedom for ministry and creativity to take place.

"It's not just music, it's ministry" - Steven Gauthier
